The „Krackesmühle“
The „Krackesmühle“ is a popular destination for hikers. In the preserves around the Krackesmühle are deers, goats, donkeys and geese. For lunch we can recommend you trout from the local fish-pool or „Holzfaeller-steak“ or one of the other specialities of the region...
The Krackesmühle is one of the oldest water-mills of the Hunsrueck-area: Although it was mentioned for the first time in 1588, its origin might be even much older.

Castle „Hunolstein“
The castle Hunolstein was established around 1190. As one knows today, the fortress was built by the count Folmar II. of Blieskastel - the governer of Hunolstein. Today the castle ruin is property of the municipality of Morbach, which accomplished the conservation of the ruin and the establishment of the inner court a few years ago.

Thalfang
At the northern foot of the „Erbeskopf“ hill lies the health resort Thalfang (Latin Talavancum), located in an area, which already had been settled by the Kelts and the Romans. As one of the oldest admininistrative centers in the region Thalfang was documented for the first time in the year 1112. However, the modern Thalfang can offer to its visitors also many things. Thalfang is a rather new health resort with a mild but stimulating climate while the air in this area ranks among best and healthiest in Germany. Castle „Dhronecken“
Not far away from Thalfang, in the valley of the Dhron river, lies the ruin of the castle Dhronecken. Since the 14th. century the castle was the office center of Tronecken, to which also Thalfang belonged. Nowadays, the buildings surrounding the former castle are used by the forestry office.
The „Erbeskopf“
In the middle of the Hunsrueck lies the „Erbeskopf“, which is the highest hill of „Rheinland-Pfalz“ Rhineland-Palatinate (818 m above sea level). From its observation tower you can see an eldorado for people who are interested in nature, hiking or winter-sport. The forests surrounding the „Erbeskopf“ rank among the most beautiful and most original of the entire Hunsrueck-area.
